The City of Atlanta's Housing Help Center

The City of Atlanta’s Housing Help Center is dedicated to helping vulnerable residents navigate their housing challenges by providing essential resources, personalized support, and connections to various assistance programs aimed at achieving stable and affordable living conditions.

The Housing Help Center serves multiple functions:

  1. Resource Connection: It connects residents with over 200 government agencies and nonprofit organizations that offer assistance in areas such as rental support, legal aid for landlord-tenant disputes, and mortgage assistance programs.

  2. Personalized Navigation: The center provides personalized case management through trained navigators who help clients understand their options and access necessary resources.

  3. Emergency Assistance: For those experiencing homelessness or at risk of eviction, the center can facilitate emergency housing placements and connect individuals with supportive services.

  4. Homeownership Support: The center also offers guidance on homeownership opportunities, including down payment assistance programs for first-time homebuyers.

While the center primarily focuses on assisting households earning at or below 60% of the area median income (approximately $43,000 for a single-person household), it provides resources accessible to all Atlanta residents regardless of income level. This includes information about various housing programs that may have specific eligibility requirements.

The Housing Help Center is located on the first floor of Two Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. It also has a satellite office at Atlanta City Hall. Residents can visit in person or contact the center through its website or by calling 311. The center operates from 9AM-5PM on weekdays but offers flexible appointment scheduling outside regular hours to accommodate different needs.
