The Georgia Resilience and Opportunity Fund is a coalition of local elected officials and non-profits who have merged to create bold solutions to racial justice and engage community members and policy decision-makers to implement them.
The organization has developed the Old Fourth Ward Economic Security Task Force. This task force is a 6-month initiative charged with designing a pilot program to provide greater economic support for residents. The program established is targeting black women in Georgia specifically and is called, In Her Hands. The initiative is to give $850 per month, to 650 black women for two years. The program will launch in early 2022 and distribute more than $13 million.
