Intrada Westside is situated at 2176 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, replacing a former shopping center that included Kmart and Giant Food. The project was spearheaded by rapper T.I. (Clifford Harris) as part of his “Buy Back the Block” initiative aimed at revitalizing the community he grew up in.
Housing Units and Features
The complex consists of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments that are equipped with modern amenities such as energy-efficient appliances, washer and dryer connections, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Additionally, the property includes communal facilities like a fitness center, computer center with internet access, playgrounds, picnic areas, and on-site laundry services.
Affordability Focus
Out of the total units available, 25 are designated as permanent supportive housing, specifically aimed at assisting individuals transitioning from homelessness or those facing housing instability. The monthly rent for these apartments ranges from approximately $811 to $1,988 depending on the size and type of unit. This pricing structure is intended to accommodate families and individuals earning between 30% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), making it a crucial resource in addressing Atlanta’s affordable housing crisis.
The Intrada Westside development represents a significant step toward increasing affordable housing availability in Atlanta, addressing both immediate housing needs and long-term community sustainability.
