The partnership between the Policing and Alternatives Diversion Initiative (PAD) and the GA Mental Health Consumer Network is to advocate for people living in Atlanta and Fulton County to access high-quality, voluntary, evidence-based, recovery-oriented, and culturally competent mental health recovery support and services.
PAD was established in 2017 to create immediate alternatives to arrests and incarceration of people experiencing poverty, unmet mental health needs, or those battling substance abuse. The GMHCN was founded in 1990, they have been recognized for their innovations in mental health peer support and are one of the largest organizations in the world run and led by people in mental health recovery.
