Hotels for Homeless Initiative

The city council has approved $3.5 million in additional homeless prevention aid on a unanimous vote. According to the mayor’s office, Partners for HOME will use the additional funds to provide rapid rehousing services for 100 homeless households. The money will also support the retention of 100 low barrier shelter bed operations for the Evolution Center. Partners for HOME will use the funds to provide non-congregate shelter hotel operations and street outreach teams as well.

Last winter, the city used Covid-19 relief funds to put 250 people into hotels. Partners for HOME coordinated those services and has since rehoused 688 people with the funding. This is huge for the city of Atlanta and we thank Mayor Bottoms for not only understanding the task in front of us but also taking steps to reverse the homeless situation in Atlanta.
