2023 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count

The 2023 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count in Georgia revealed that approximately 12,000 individuals experienced homelessness on any given night, marking an increase from previous years. This count includes both sheltered and unsheltered populations that were available for the count. With all the job loss, low wages, and rent increases; this number has to be much higher (IMO).

The persistent issues surrounding affordable housing and economic stability indicate that more comprehensive strategies are needed moving forward.
