This year has been a wild ride with three kids 2 and under, and a teen! Family life is a mix of chaos and fun :)
Due to the lingering presence of COVID-19 and precautions taken for my health, we were unable to host in-person events this year.
Throughout the year, we continued our monthly drop-offs at various women and children’s shelters. These contributions included hygiene items, clothing, shoes, and school supplies. Our team delivered "fun bags" to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and spent time with the strongest little angels and their families. This visit not only uplifted the children but the volunteers as well. We wanted the families to know that even though they are "in it", they are not alone.
We extended our outreach to senior communities this year. Spending time with seniors is so insightful when you are present and can just listen. I loved listening to past stories of how things used to be and about the "old Atlanta." We shared many laughs and big hugs. We built real relationships and have a better understanding of how we can assist them.
Despite not hosting formal events, our commitment to giving and service did not waver. We love our community and will continue to find ways to impact the people in a meaningful way.
With gratitude,
Ericka Cameron-Carr
